Deleting your data
How to remove a connected account, or all of your data, from PostPen.
Data Deletion
Last Updated: November 3, 2026
1. What PostPen keeps for a connected account
When you connect LinkedIn, X, a Facebook Page, an Instagram professional account, Threads, or a YouTube channel, PostPen stores the account's id, name, username (a handle on YouTube) and profile picture, and the access token the network gives us so we can publish the posts you choose. For Facebook and Instagram, that is the token of each Page you chose to share. To show how your posts did, PostPen also reads the numbers the network gives for the posts it published and the account's follower count. On YouTube, that is the views, likes and comment counts of the videos PostPen uploaded, and the channel's subscriber count. We do not read your feed or messages, or who your followers are.
2. Remove one connected account
- Sign in to PostPen and open the Social Accounts page (under Connect in the sidebar), where all of your connected accounts are listed.
- Find the account under LinkedIn, X, Facebook, Instagram, Threads or YouTube and choose Disconnect.
PostPen deletes that account's stored tokens, name and picture straight away. Posts scheduled for it stay in PostPen and fail to post unless you connect the same account again before their time; you can also delete them. For a YouTube channel, disconnecting also revokes PostPen's access at Google. Your other accounts and your posts in PostPen are not affected.
3. Remove PostPen from the network
You can also take back PostPen's access from the network itself:
- Facebook and Instagram: Facebook Settings & privacy > Settings > Business integrations, then remove PostPen
- Threads: Threads Settings > Account > Website permissions, then remove PostPen
- X: Settings and privacy > Security and account access > Apps and sessions > Connected apps, then revoke PostPen
- LinkedIn: Settings > Data privacy > Permitted services, then remove PostPen
- YouTube: in your Google security settings (Third-party apps & services), remove PostPen
This stops PostPen from publishing for you. To also delete what PostPen stored, disconnect the account in PostPen (section 2) or ask us (section 4).
4. Delete your PostPen account and all of your data
Email privacy@postpen.ai from the email address you use for PostPen, with the subject "Delete my PostPen account". We confirm the request and delete your account, connected accounts and their tokens, drafts, scheduled posts, media and profile within 30 days.
5. What is not deleted
- Posts already published stay on LinkedIn, X, Facebook, Instagram, Threads and YouTube under each network's own policies. Delete them there.
- Billing and transaction records are kept as long as tax and accounting laws require.
For more about the data we keep and for how long, see our Privacy Policy. Questions: privacy@postpen.ai.
