The basics

What is PostPen?

PostPen is LinkedIn scheduling and publishing for AI agents. Your agent writes the post. PostPen holds your LinkedIn connection, queues the post, and publishes it to your personal profile or company pages at the time you set.

Does PostPen write my posts?

No. Your agent writes the post. PostPen connects LinkedIn, schedules and publishes it. You can also write and post by hand in the app.

What happened to the AI writing features?

Your agent writes now. PostPen focuses on connecting LinkedIn, scheduling, and publishing. You can still write and post by hand in the app.

Is PostPen affiliated with LinkedIn?

No. LinkedIn is a trademark of LinkedIn Corporation. PostPen is not affiliated with LinkedIn.

Which networks does PostPen post to?

LinkedIn: your personal profile and the company pages you admin.

Connecting your agent

Which agents work with PostPen?

Anything that can add a remote MCP server: Grok Bot, Claude, ChatGPT, Muse by Meta, Cursor, VS Code, Claude Code, Codex, and Gemini CLI. Bots that can only send HTTP requests can call the same eleven tools with a bearer API key; see postpen.ai/openapi.json.

How do I connect my agent?

Add PostPen as an MCP server using https://mcp.postpen.ai. Your agent opens a browser window, you sign in to PostPen and click Allow, and you are sent back to the agent. If your agent needs a header instead, create an API key at app.postpen.ai/agents and send it as Authorization: Bearer. Step-by-step instructions for each agent are in the LinkedIn MCP guide.

Can I use PostPen from a terminal agent like Claude Code, Codex, or Gemini CLI?

Yes. Add it with one command, then sign in to PostPen and click Allow in the browser. Claude Code: claude mcp add --transport http postpen https://mcp.postpen.ai, then run /mcp. Codex CLI: codex mcp add postpen --url https://mcp.postpen.ai, then codex mcp login postpen. Gemini CLI: gemini mcp add --transport http postpen https://mcp.postpen.ai, then run /mcp auth postpen.

My agent still says it needs authentication. What do I do?

Remove PostPen from the agent, add it again with https://mcp.postpen.ai, and click Allow in the browser. Keep the agent app open until the browser says authorization is complete. Cursor and Grok Bot both receive the sign-in on the same local port, so quit one of them while you connect the other.

Control and safety

Does my agent ever see my LinkedIn token?

No. You connect LinkedIn once inside PostPen. The token stays on our server. The agent authenticates to PostPen, never to LinkedIn, and no tool accepts or returns a LinkedIn token.

Can an agent publish without asking me?

publish_now only runs when the call includes an explicit confirm. Drafts and scheduled posts show up on your calendar first, where you can edit, move, or delete them before they go out.

How do I revoke access?

To disconnect an agent, remove PostPen from that agent's connector or MCP settings. To stop an API key from working, choose Revoke next to it on app.postpen.ai/agents; agents using that key are cut off right away. To disconnect LinkedIn from PostPen, use Disconnect on the LinkedIn page.

A post didn't publish. Why?

Open the calendar; a failed post shows the reason. If LinkedIn is disconnected or expired, reconnect it on the LinkedIn page, then schedule the post again.

Company pages and results

Can I post to company pages?

Yes, on Organization. You get your personal profile plus 2 company pages you admin, all from the same LinkedIn login. For more than 2 pages, contact us about Enterprise. For the step-by-step, see How to Schedule LinkedIn Business Page Posts.

Can my agent see how my posts performed?

Yes. get_post_stats reads impressions, reach, reactions, comments, and reposts for a published post from LinkedIn. get_insights shows whether each account is growing against the period before and which recent posts beat what is usual for that account, so the agent can plan the next posts around what worked. Comments can be read on company page posts; LinkedIn does not let apps read them on personal posts.

What can I attach to a post?

Up to 9 images of 5MB each, one mp4 video from 75KB to 200MB, or one PDF up to 100MB shown as a carousel. Don't mix types in one post. Post text can be up to 3,000 characters.

Plans and billing

Is PostPen free?

Yes, there's a Free plan: 10 published posts a month to 1 personal profile, with all eleven agent tools. See pricing for paid plans.

What counts toward the Free plan's 10 posts?

Each post published to LinkedIn in a calendar month. Drafts and scheduled posts that have not gone out yet do not count. Unused posts do not roll over to the next month.

What does fair use mean on unlimited plans?

Scheduling is unlimited, with a cap of 5,000 posts per destination per month. That is far above normal use and exists to stop runaway loops.

Can I cancel?

Yes. Monthly and yearly plans can be cancelled any time and stay active until the end of the period you paid for. Lifetime is a one-time payment.
