How to schedule LinkedIn posts on desktop and mobile

By PostPen Team ·

To schedule a LinkedIn post, click Start a post, write it, click the clock icon, pick a date and time, click Next, then Schedule. LinkedIn lets you schedule a personal post from 10 minutes to 3 months ahead, on desktop or in the mobile app, for free. You can view, reschedule, edit or delete scheduled posts from the same clock icon.

If your AI agent writes your posts, PostPen can schedule them for you. Start free, then connect your agent.

This guide covers LinkedIn's built-in scheduler for your personal profile. Every step and limit below comes from LinkedIn Help, Schedule posts, checked October 9, 2026.

How to schedule a LinkedIn post on desktop

  1. Click Start a post at the top of your LinkedIn homepage. The Create a post window opens.
  2. Type your post in the What do you want to talk about? field.
  3. Click the clock icon in the lower-right corner.
  4. In the Schedule post window, pick the date and time you want the post published. You can type an exact time instead of using the 30-minute options in the dropdown.
  5. Click Next. The scheduled date and time now show above the post.
  6. Click Schedule. A confirmation appears in the lower left of the page.

Want a different time before you commit? Click the clock icon again, update the time, click Next, then Schedule.

How to schedule a LinkedIn post on mobile

The LinkedIn app uses the same flow, with taps instead of clicks:

  1. Tap Post in the navigation bar. The Share post window opens.
  2. Type your post in the Share your thoughts... field.
  3. Tap the clock icon in the upper-right corner.
  4. In the Schedule window, pick the date and time. You can enter an exact time here too.
  5. Tap Next. The scheduled date and time show above the post.
  6. Tap Schedule.

LinkedIn shows the post scheduled confirmation once it's queued. You can then find the post under View all in the same Schedule window.

How far in advance you can schedule LinkedIn posts

You can schedule a post between 10 minutes and 3 months from the current time, per LinkedIn Help (checked October 9, 2026). The same window applies on desktop and mobile.

LinkedIn notes that scheduled times are converted to UTC based on your device's time zone settings. If your device is set to the wrong time zone, the post will go out at the wrong local time.

So before you schedule LinkedIn posts in advance, check the time zone on the device you're using. This matters most if you travel or use a work laptop set to another region.

A quick check before you click Schedule

  1. Read the date and time shown above the post. That's when it will go out.
  2. Confirm your device's time zone, since LinkedIn converts the time to UTC from it.
  3. Make sure the post isn't an event or a job, which can't be scheduled.

View, reschedule, edit or delete a scheduled post

Once a post is scheduled, you can still change it. When you have posts in the queue, the clock icon shows a badge with the number of scheduled posts.

Find your scheduled posts

  • Desktop: click Start a post, click the clock icon, then click View all scheduled posts in the lower-left corner. Your posts appear on the Scheduled posts page.
  • Mobile: tap Post, tap the clock icon, then tap View all.

Click or tap any post to preview it.

Change or remove a scheduled post

  1. Open your scheduled posts as described above.
  2. To delete a post, click the Delete icon next to it. In the Delete scheduled post? window, click Delete and confirm.
  3. To change the time or the text, click the More icon in the upper right, then choose Modify schedule or Edit post.

Cancel scheduling before you finish

If you set a time and change your mind before clicking Schedule, you can clear it:

  1. Click Edit next to the time shown above the post.
  2. In the Schedule post window, click Clear time on desktop, or tap Clear on mobile.
  3. Post it right away with Post, or close the window to discard it.

What you can't schedule

Per LinkedIn Help (checked October 9, 2026), scheduling is currently not supported for these post types:

  • Events
  • Jobs

LinkedIn says "currently", and the list can change, so check the help page if the clock icon is missing for a post type.

Scheduling for a company page

Company page posts follow different rules. Only a Page's Super admin or Content admin can schedule them, and the window is one hour to three months ahead, per LinkedIn Help, Schedule a LinkedIn Page post (checked October 9, 2026). For the full steps, see how to schedule LinkedIn company page posts.

Troubleshooting

  • There's no clock icon. Scheduling isn't supported for events and jobs. If you're creating one of those, you'll need to post it when you're ready.
  • The post went out at the wrong time. LinkedIn converts scheduled times to UTC using your device's time zone. Check the time zone on the device you scheduled from.
  • You can't find a scheduled post. Open Start a post, click the clock icon, then View all scheduled posts (or View all on mobile).
  • The time you want isn't available. The window is 10 minutes to 3 months from now, per LinkedIn Help. Pick a time inside it, or post right away.

Scheduling posts your AI agent writes

If Claude, ChatGPT or another AI agent drafts your posts, you don't have to copy each one into LinkedIn. Your agent writes the post; PostPen schedules and publishes it.

You add PostPen's server, https://mcp.postpen.ai, to your agent once. After that, you ask in chat and a scheduled post lands on a calendar you can review before it goes out.
