What PostPen does on X
- Connect once. Connect your X account on the Social Accounts page in PostPen. Your agent signs in to PostPen, never to X, and never sees your X token.
- Your agent picks X per post.
list_destinationsreturns your X account with an id likex:<id>.save_drafttakes it indestinations, alone or next to your other accounts. - A version for X.
network_textgives X its own text, so a long LinkedIn post can go out on X as a short one. - Your account's own limit. PostPen reads it from X: 280 characters on a standard account, 25,000 with X Premium (Basic, Premium or Premium+).
- Threads from long text. A post longer than your account takes goes out as a thread of up to 25 posts, each a reply to the one before, cut at a paragraph or sentence and numbered 1/3, 2/3, 3/3. Images or a video go on the first post. The Composer shows the thread before it goes out.
- First comment and alt text.
first_commentgoes out as a reply right after the post (under the last post of a thread), and each image keeps its alt text. - Checked before it's scheduled. If the post has too many images or is too long even for a thread,
save_draftsays so innetwork_problems, andschedule_postrefuses the post until it's fixed. - One calendar. Drafts, scheduled and published X posts sit next to your other networks on the PostPen calendar, where you can edit, move or delete them before they go out.

FAQ
Can my agent post a thread on X?
Yes. Send the whole text: anything longer than your account takes in one post goes out as a thread of up to 25 numbered posts, each a reply to the one before. If X refuses one part, the posts before it stay up and the post shows a note saying how many went out.
Does PostPen support X Premium's long posts?
Yes. PostPen asks X for your account's limit, so a Premium account can post up to 25,000 characters in one post. A standard account's longer text becomes a thread.
Does PostPen read X analytics?
Yes. For the posts PostPen publishes on X, the X dashboard in PostPen shows impressions, likes, replies, reposts and bookmarks, plus your follower count. Your agent reads the same numbers with get_post_stats and get_insights. X gives no reach.
Does my agent see my X password or token?
No. PostPen keeps the X connection on its server, and no tool accepts or returns a token for any network.
